Lesson Lab Press offers optional production services for authors whose manuscripts are accepted for publication but are not yet publisher-ready. These services are designed to meet professional publishing standards and are offered at clear, nominal rates to support authors who prefer not to outsource elsewhere.
Use of these services is optional and does not guarantee acceptance or publication. Editorial decisions are made independently of any production services.
Manuscript Formatting
Professional formatting for print and ebook editions, prepared to meet industry standards and distribution platform requirements.
Includes:
Interior layout for print (trim size, margins, headers, page numbers)
Ebook formatting (reflowable EPUB)
Consistent typography and spacing
Front and back matter formatting
Pricing:
$250 — Manuscripts up to 60,000 words
$350 — Manuscripts 60,001–90,000 words
$450 — Manuscripts over 90,000 words
Cover Formatting
Formatting of an author-provided cover design to meet technical specifications for print and ebook platforms.
Includes:
Proper sizing and bleed for print covers
Spine calculation and alignment
Ebook cover optimization
Platform-ready files
Pricing:
$150 — Print and ebook cover formatting
Cover Design
Custom cover design created in collaboration with the author, aligned with the book’s subject, audience, and publishing goals.
Includes:
One original cover concept
Up to two revision rounds
Final files for print and ebook distribution
Pricing:
$400 — Standard cover design
Additional revisions beyond the included rounds may be available at a modest hourly rate, if needed.

These services are offered only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Authors are free to use their own formatting or design providers.
Fees are separate from royalties and publishing agreements.
Lesson Lab Press does not sell publishing packages or require service purchases as a condition of publication.
